2. Acceptance of terms
By using Scribethat you fully accept these Terms & Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept, you may not use the service. These Terms constitute a binding contract between you and Scribethat.
3. Description of service
Scribethat is a SaaS (Software as a Service) platform that allows you to:
- Upload audio and video files (MP3, MP4, WAV, M4A) to receive automatic text transcriptions.
- Paste URLs from supported platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, etc.) for transcription.
- View, copy, export and manage your transcriptions.
Transcription is performed using OpenAI's Whisper model. Accuracy may vary depending on audio quality, language, accents and background noise. We do not guarantee 100% accuracy.
4. Registration and account
- To use the service you must create an account with a valid email address.
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You may also register via Google OAuth, in which case Google's Terms of Service also apply.
- Creating accounts with false identities or on behalf of others without authorization is prohibited.
5. Plans and pricing
Free Plan: includes 10 transcription minutes at no cost, available upon registration. Minutes do not renew.
Subscription plans:
- Standard: 180 min/month — €7.97/month (or annual discount)
- Pro: 540 min/month — €12.97/month (or annual discount)
- Team: 900 min/month shared across up to 5 accounts — €29.97/month (or annual discount)
Extra minutes: purchasable separately (60, 150 or 300 minutes). They do not expire as long as the account is active.
The prices shown are the final prices. BAROS LUCA operates under the Italian flat-rate tax scheme (regime forfettario) pursuant to Law 190/2014 and does not apply VAT. Monthly minutes reset on the first day of each month and are not carried over to the following month.
6. Payment and renewal
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card data.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period (monthly or annual) unless cancelled.
- You may cancel automatic renewal at any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid for: you retain access until expiry.
7. Right of withdrawal (consumers)
For consumers (private individuals): pursuant to Article 52 of the Italian Consumer Code, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within
14 days of conclusion, without providing any reason, by written notice to
info@scribethat.com.
Important: if you expressly request immediate commencement of the service (i.e. use the service before the 14-day period), you lose the right of withdrawal in proportion to the service already provided, pursuant to Article 59(o) of the Consumer Code. By accepting these Terms and beginning to use the service, you expressly consent to immediate commencement of performance.
8. Content and licence
- You retain full ownership of the audio/video files you upload and the transcriptions generated.
- You grant Scribethat a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence solely for the purpose of providing the transcription service.
- Audio/video files are deleted immediately after transcription. Text transcriptions are retained for 14 days.
9. Acceptable use
It is prohibited to use Scribethat to:
- Transcribe copyright-protected content without authorisation from the rights holder.
- Violate third-party privacy (e.g. non-consensual recordings).
- Engage in activities that are illegal or contrary to applicable Italian and EU law.
- Attempt unauthorised access to systems, abuse of the API, or circumvention of usage quotas.
- Distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene or harmful to third-party rights.
We reserve the right to suspend or close accounts that violate these rules.
10. Limitation of liability
- Scribethat is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service.
- We are not responsible for inaccuracies in automatically generated transcriptions.
- Our maximum liability to you shall not exceed the amount paid in the preceding 3 months.
- We are not responsible for data loss due to factors outside our control.
11. Changes to the service and these Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms, plans and pricing with at least 30 days' notice by email or via a notice in the application. Continued use of the service after such period constitutes acceptance of the changes.
12. Account deletion
You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account. Deletion results in the permanent removal of all personal data and stored transcriptions, subject to any retention obligations required by law.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by Italian law. For consumers, the competent court is the court of the consumer's place of residence or domicile in Italy. For B2B relationships, the exclusive court of jurisdiction is Treviso, Italy.
